We were appointed by Cheddar Parish Council and Ride Mendips to provide a pump track to compliment Cheddar skatepark and the area surrounding Cheddar Reservoir.
The addition of a pump track aimed to broaden the user base of the popular skate park and increase the capacity of the facility, providing a resource that enables people of all abilities to develop their skills and encourage more bikes to reinvigorate the cycling community in the area.
The client wanted to include a freestyle element to the track where possible to cater for the skateboarders. Taking this on board, we designed a pump track with a fully surfaced asphalt section inside the perimeter pump track route.
This is a unique concept developed by Velosolutions and it here has been integrated into a full pump track. On the inside there is a ‘donut’ feature. It creates opportunities for riding the track with different lines and options to allow users to be even more creative with their riding.
